Sip boutique reds at Grande Provence Wine & Dine Collaboration dinner

Friday, 21 August, 19h00, The Restaurant at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate

Wrap up winter with boutique red blends and out of the ordinary food pairings at the next Grande Provence Wine & Dine Collaboration dinner on Friday, 21 August.

Hosted by Grande Provence winemaker, Karl Lambour, the evening will feature four outstanding courses served with wines from the property as well as Hermanuspietersfontein, Warwick and Joostenberg.

For the Hermanuspietersfontein Arnoldus 2010, Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst has chosen braised springbok shank and seared foie gras terrine with sesame quail egg, fermented kimchi, pistachio truffle cream and a dash of 12 week old black garlic.

His Masala spiced, confit free range quail will meld seamlessly with the Warwick Trilogy 2011, after which guests can savour The Grande Provence Red 2012 with a selection of hot and cold smokes of pork belly, local marrons, beetroot carpaccio, lavender corn and yuzu, topped with a barbeque glaze.

Ending the evening’s menu on a high note will be the Joostenberg Bakermat 2011, served with a cheese course of Fourme d’ Ambert crochette and aerated Reblochon fondue with finishing touches of fig caviar, salt cured lamb breast crisp and spiced pear.

The Red Blends Wine & Dine Collaboration dinner takes place at The Restaurant at Grande Provence on Friday, 21 August, starting at 19h00. To book your seat at R525 per person, call 021 876 8600 or e-mail restaurant@grandeprovence.co.za.
