Autumnal Pinot Noir feast at Grande Provence Wine & Dine Collaboration

Four masterly crafted renditions of the infamous heartbreak grape take centre stage at the Pinot Noir Wine & Dine Collaboration at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek on Friday, 27 May 2016.

Showcasing Pinot Noir as their wine of the month, Grande Provence will be collaborating with Catherine Marshall Wines, Snow Mountain and Shannon Vineyards for an unforgettable evening at The Restaurant, hosted by Winemaker Karl Lambour. Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst will be serving signature autumn dishes crafted with seasonal gems including some of his own foraged wild mushrooms and vineyard herbs to match each of the divergent styles of Pinot Noir.

The wine and food journey begins with the silky Catherine Marshall Pinot Noir on clay soils 2013 paired to perfection with seared Franschhoek trout enriched with wild mushrooms, vineyard sorrel and anise poached beetroot brûlée. Lambour will be presenting his own velvet textured Grande Provence Pinot Noir 2014 made of 100% Franschhoek grapes, with braised pork belly, scallop noodles and black sesame truffles with a cauliflower twist.

Next up is the Snow Mountain Pinot Noir 2015. The dark cherry character and subtly spiced finish meld beautifully with hot smoked blesbok topped with toasted coriander crunch and a Pinot Noir glazed berry jus.

The evening ends on a vibrant note with Shannon Vineyards Rockview Ridge Pinot Noir 2015 paired with a medley of chocolate, berries, coffee and nuts.
