Wine lovers longing for an evening of sublime reds and exceptional winelands fare should book their place for the Grande Provence Pinot Noir Wine & Dine Collaboration dinner of Friday, 29 May.
Celebrating Pinot Noir as their wine of the month, Grande Provence will be collaborating with Oak Valley Estate, Newton Johnson Family Vineyards and Creation Wines for an unforgettable evening at The Restaurant, hosted by Grande Provence winemaker Karl Lambour.
Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst has prepared an exceptional menu to match each wine’s taste profile to perfection.
For the first course, the Newton Johnson Family Vineyards Pinot Noir 2014 will be served with juicy braised veal shank and seared foie gras terrine, sesame quails egg and fermented kimchi, drizzled with pistachio and truffle béchamel, with a dash of 12 week black garlic.
Chef Darren is known for his love of using rabbit as an ingredient in his cooking, and guests will be treated to a second course of Creation Reserve Pinot Noir 2014 served with pancetta rolled saddle of rabbit, Nora pepper and rabbit bitterballen, with tonka baked royal black rice, finished beautifully with wisps of celeriac and parsley root snow.
Next up, The Oak Valley Pinot Noir 2013 will be the taste partner of Himalayan salt rock cooked king scallops, 12 hour sous vide pork belly, baby root vegetables, carrot and cardamom.
Ending the evening’s menu will be the Grande Provence Pinot Noir 2013 and smoked comte cheese and creamed leek arancini, with rosemary and parmesan crumble, baked Parma ham and creamy reblochon parcel, decorated with kumquat, marigold and Cape gooseberry preserve.
