Get on your marks for the Steenberg Charity Trail Run
Saturday, August 6, 08h00, Steenberg Vineyards, Constantia
Head for the hills as you wine your way through the vineyards for the 4th Steenberg Cool Runnings Charity Trail Run, a heart-warming day of fun and thrills in Constantia on Saturday, 6 August 2016.
Held annually at Steenberg Vineyards, the trail run takes you on a 5km or 10km loop to run, jog or walk the great outdoors amidst the winter vines. All proceeds will go to the Mdzananda Vet Clinic in Khayelitsha, a community project that provides quality care for ill and abandoned animals.
All participants receive a wine glass filled with Steenberg Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc at the finish line and can sit back and enjoy a free wine tasting with 10% off on all wine purchases from the cellar door on the day. There are also a host of great prizes up for grabs.
For those wishing to give a little more, a Mdzananda Vet Donation Box will be available prior to the race where leashes, blankets, dog or cat food and other pet items can be dropped into.
The entry fee is R130 per trail runner, R50 per teen between the ages of 12-17, while children under 12 have free entry. Water and wine refreshment stations will be available en route and breakfast treats and refreshments can be purchased before the start and during the course of the morning.
If you prefer a more formal continental or full breakfast served until 10h30 at Catharina’s, book now by calling Tel (021) 713 7178. Bistro1682 will be closed from 25 July to 11 August for their annual winter break.
Registration for the Cool Runnings Charity Trail Run opens at 7am outside the Bistro1682 Restaurant. Walkers are welcomed. The briefing takes place 15-minutes ahead of the race at 8am. Pre-booking is essential and can be done online at www.quicket.co.za.
